White House counsel Ruemmler to step down Sep 18th 2013, 17:26 WASHINGTON | Wed Sep 18, 2013 1:26pm EDT WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Wednesday that Kathryn Ruemmler, the president's chief legal counsel, would step down at the end of the year. White House spokesman Jay Carney would not comment on whether a successor has been identified.
