Nov 4th 2013, 23:56

WASHINGTON | Mon Nov 4, 2013 6:56pm EST

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A White House-backed bill to ban workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity narrowly cleared a Republican roadblock on Monday in the Senate.
